But a healthy vulva is not, and studies have shown that ~30% of college age women have clitoral adhesions caused by smegma buildup. I’ve also seen smegma buildup on the labia minora noted as normal in the literature. That is disgusting. Smegma does smell, and it would be super helpful if doctors provided patients with education about proper hygiene. That way we could at least eliminate women seeking genital surgeries for hygienic reasons.
