But she did speak up. She wasn’t silent. Her voice was dismissed. As far as her obligation to future victims, I think she did enough. I think, as a victim, her responsibility was to herself to meet her own needs. I think as a victim, it can be easy to fall into a trap of feeling responsible for everyone who might get harmed the way you were. It’s a huge weight and it should not be on the victims. It should be on the society that ignores and dismisses victims.
