In speaking to a patient who is concerned about her lack of ability to experience orgasm or is even unsure somehow if she has had one — I usually go through a series of historical questions, a physical exam, a discussion of relationships and beliefs concerning sexual history and function — and we try to formulate a plan where her expectations of sexual pleasure will match her reality (otherwise, why do it??)
