Hi, most vibrators definitely do cause numbness. However, other vibrators, like the original Lelo Ina, actually have a sensitizing effect.
Unfortunately, the original Ina is discontinued and my last ones are broken. All other vibrators I have tried (20+) are awful.
I haven’t tried the Lioness because I do not want to be paying for the extra tech I don’t want, and I do not like how the internal portion does not vibrate.
In my opinion, different types of vibrations have different effects on mechanoreceptors. Yet there isn’t any research on this.
Sex toy designers appear to have done very little to address this issue. There’s the womanizer, which of course is designed by people who seem to have no clue regarding the anatomy of the clitoris, which is typical. Their illustrations are anatomically incorrect.
They furthermore claim it doesn’t make contact with the clitoris, which is completely ridiculous because of course it does make contact with the clitoral body (the part of the clitoral hood over the clitoral body is clitoral shaft skin, so this segment should, for all intents and purposes, be considered part of the clitoris).
