Hmm what would my subreddit be? R/clitoris? Lol

The dorsal nerves of my clitoris were cut in a clitoral hood reduction when I was barely 18, by a very prominent OB/GYN surgeon.

For years, doctors dismissed my injury as all in my head. 5-6 years after my surgery, I diagnosed myself. It took a long time to be completely sure I was right. I was so afraid of discrediting myself and kept looking for an expert.

Here is an email I found from myself in 2010.

That email was never answered. I sent versions of it to gynecologic surgeons and sexual medicine experts all over the country. No one answered.

It’s now been over 13 years since I first started trying to understand what happened to me. Not much has changed. Today, I get stories just like mine from other women.

I wrote about it here. It’s also on Medium.

Getting clitoral neural anatomy included in OB/GYN textbooks. It was finally added for the first time in July 2019. BME/EE @WUSTL
