I know why I care so much. That should be obvious if you have read any of my posts or comments. From a macro perspective, having men value women as commodities is desctructive. Maybe in a world with truly equal opportunity, where female sex workers are not stigmatized, where women are not stereotyped negatively or discriminated against, where women are equally empowered to pursue their sexual desires, where women’s sexual function is valued as highly as men’s, where there is no wage gap, where there is no pleasure gap, where you don’t see pretty women devoting time and energy in unsustainable means for obtaining resources at the expense of later opportunities, where you don’t have so much pressure for women to get harmful plastic surgery with long term, devastating impacts on QOL, where you don’t see misogynistic healthcare policies regarding hpv testing, birth control, etc, THEN there would be no problem.
