I think if you give women the same opportunity to attain status, this begins ru diminish. As women gain power in society, you see more and more women choosing to date men who are less successful. But cultural shifts take time.

I know for me personally, as long as I believed I would be super successful myself, how much I predicted the success of my partners was a moot point. In the beginning, I didn’t even care if they were smart. But then I got more emotionally attracted to the smart ones.
