It is necessary to push hard. Feminists have been pushing for doctors to know clitoral anatomy for 4+ decades now, but incorrect gross anatomy is still prevalent in OB/GYN textbooks and journals. Detailed neurovascular anatomy is consistently omitted.

The active deletion of clitoral anatomy that occurred during the 20th century occurred due to conservatism and sexism. The results are preventable genital mutilations, which are seen as no big deal because female sexual responsiveness is still not seen as particularly important.

Getting clitoral neural anatomy included in OB/GYN textbooks. It was finally added for the first time in July 2019. BME/EE @WUSTL
