There is also a pervasive disregard for female sexual response in medical literature. The innervation of the clitoris is omitted from modern OB/GYN texthooks.

The omission from medical literature is part of the same cultural pattern that dictates female orgasm is just a bonus, while male orgasm is necessary.

I would appreciate if everyone who believes clitoral function is important could please support its inclusion in OB/GYN literature, curriculums, and board exams by clapping for this article I wrote. I’m trying to use social media because textbook authors have been resistant. It has been mind-bogglingly difficult to get people to understand why omitting the large (>1 mm — amazing how big they are), easily dissectible nerves in the clitoris is a threat to patient safety.

Getting clitoral neural anatomy included in OB/GYN textbooks. It was finally added for the first time in July 2019. BME/EE @WUSTL
