They actually all seem about the same. Most are extremely defensive drones incapable of thinking independently. Why do I get so much better responses when I have conversations with plastic surgeons and urologists about the need for better clitoral anatomy?
Meanwhile, OB/GYNs insist on doing surgeries they aren’t trained to do on anatomy they don’t know. They insist they know anatomy omitted from their textbooks and journals. This misrepresentation of their clinical knowledge is a violation of informed consent.
They tell me the distal course of the dorsal nerve of the clitoris is too small and difficult to dissect. Are they just extremely uncoordinated or what? That’s scary. Though I had not dissected anything but frogs nearly 10 years ago, dissecting these nerves was not difficult at all, even in an old lady who was extremely atrophied.
They refuse to add clitoral neurovascular anatomy to their board exams, they refuse to teach it during residency, they refuse to put it in textbooks, etc. They tell me they shouldn’t have to know it because they already know too much. They tell me they have more important things to worry about.
How can all these female doctors care so little about their own anatomy? It’s so crazy.
