This is why doctors miss the lack of clitoral neurovascular anatomy in textbooks. Back in 2010–2012 when I wanted to change that, I thought the whole world was against me and got extremely angry just reading OB/GYN textbooks. I got mad at the med students who wouldn’t notice an obvious omission unless I pointed it out to them. I got so upset I couldn’t deal with it anymore and quit.
The challenge for me has been coming to understand how people just don’t see what’s not there. One OB/GYN textbook author told me he didn’t intentionally leave this anatomy out. He just didn’t realize it wasn’t there. It is hard to believe the author of a chapter on operative vulvar anatomy could just accidentally leave out the neurovascular anatomy of the clitoris, but that has been what’s been going on. At least he was big enough to admit it. Most are too defensive to acknowledge there is an omission even when shown. At least, in 8 years, a couple textbooks have changed very slightly.
