Ugh. Female orgasm doesn’t need to have a direct impact on conception to be evolutionarily selected for.

What role does male orgasm have really? We know that ejaculation has a purpose of course, but where does male orgasm come in? Orgasm, as a pleasurable experience, has no more function in men than it does in women.

You might argue that if female orgasm really served the same fundamental purpose as male orgasm, the clitoris would be located inside the vagina. But that would obviously be a stupid design. How would the female judge her partners worthy? Get lubricated enough (granted this doesn’t require clitoral stimulation but it helps)? Continue having orgasms after childbirth without the clitoris getting wrecked?

Also, why do we talk about how women release more oxytocin with orgasm than men do? If we’ve developed this slight difference in how we experience orgasm, does not that indicate a functional component?
