Well this is good for your group of female acquaintances. But it has been established that women more often have difficulty being assertive. This has been changing as women become more empowered in society.

I’ve noticed there are men like this too — men who cannot give a direct no. It actually drives me crazy as I don’t “get” implicit “no.” I will keep pushing until I get one bc I’ll perceive indirectness as disrespectful on some level. Because of this, I get really angry at people who cannot be direct.

I also have a hard enough time getting men to take my direct “no” seriously in sexual situations. Moving the goal post to a place that is not reasonable only makes it more difficult to meet the original goal, which is simply to get men to take a direct “no” as a “no.”
