What I’ve seen in medicine is that people tend to fear lawsuits long after the statute of limitations is over. It has been 13 years since I had a clitoral hood reduction performed without my consent during a labiaplasty and botched, resulting in the denervation of my clitoris. He also completely removed my labia minora. Though I have scars proving what he did, my doctor insists he didn’t do it. He insists I must have had a second surgery or cut myself.
His partner was instrumental in covering this up. When I asked her if I could have lost sexual sensation because of my surgery, she told me that could not have happened. She also told me I looked normal, though my labia minora had been completely amputated. To this day, she will not even speak to me.
I also requested the residency program where my doctor works please teach the anatomy of the clitoris to their residents. The director of the program called legal to make sure they can’t get sued for not teaching it. Both the director and the head of the department refuse to speak to me.
13 years later, it appears they are all still so worried about a lawsuit they won’t speak to me.
