You’re using “knowledge of the crowd” rather than evidence basis as the standard for truth? That’s problematic. Most crowds do not meet criteria for a “wise crowd.” Crowds are susceptible to group think. “Knowledge of the crowd” tends to be whatever has been most repeated in the past. “Knowlege of the crowd” can be defined by what people want to believe, what people are financially incentivized to believe, etc. It can be informed by stereotype, bias, etc not truth. Truth needs to be backed by evidence.
