Yup. This is what I’ve had the most problem with. Most hate I have faced has come from women who should be on my side.
They even say, “I agree with her message, but I don’t like her tone, don’t like her methods, etc.”
Women who call themselves “clit feminists” have refused to support me because they think I am “too combative.”
The reason I am capable of standing up for my cause in the wake of being mutilated is because of my personality.
You aren’t going to hear from women who are less analytical, more agreeable, etc. They are “too traumatized.”
It takes a certain kind of personality to keep pushing after being told it’s their fault, it’s all in their head, they are crazy, etc. It takes a certain kind of person to keep sending emails when the first 100 have gone nowhere.
You’re hearing from me because my analytical mind and disagreeable personality has allowed me to say, “I know better than doctors.” It takes a certain kind of patient to go learn anatomy, diagnose themselves, and get a dissection study done.
Some people get bothered just by dissecting dead bodies. I dissected clitorises with my dad after mine was mutilated. I have seen, first hand, how obvious the anatomy that gets ignored really is.
I am disagreeable. I am combative. I am assertive. I am analytical. My MBTI is ENTP, with an extremely hard leaning T. I am more of a systemizer than an empathizer.
I have never shied from pissing people off. At a therapeutic boarding school I was sent to as a teen, they said I was “the most disrespectful girl they had ever seen.” They posited there was something wrong with my brain because “she doesn’t learn from mistakes” and “she is impervious to consequences.” So I had extensive psychological testing done, and I scored higher than anyone the psychologist had ever seen on my capacity to see connections and learn from mistakes. I was not making mistakes. They were. They got shut down for abuse and academic neglect. I had simply been the only one to stand up to them.
